My father John W. Saylor cleared this land back in the early 60’s. While working at the local glass plant, he slowly amped up the farm to 30 acres of strawberries. As a hobby he made wood toys, and small furniture, as his father did before him. As people started to decrease their own food canning and freezing, the farm shriveled. With connections made over the years, Dad found a need for wood crates. So, in the coming years the farm has become the hobby, with Dad still growing a small plot of hydroponic strawberries. I still grow some tomatoes and some other row crops. But the shop has grown to our main income. Our crates are geared to the agriculture community. But , in the past few years we have started making some enhanced and specialty crates for retail displays. We have the standard sizes listed, but also do custom crates and displays.
